The family loved them and they prompted some tears. They are being kept on top of the boxes that serve as a final resting place for Quincy's ashes. I know our boy has earned his wings in heaven and is watching over all of us.

Jack Russell Terrier Angel
My family recently had to have our 15-year-old dog, Quincy, put down. We have done a lot to memorialize him. One Christmas gift I gave my mom and sister was a Jack Russell terrier figurine with angel wings.
I ordered the figurines from amazon.com. They did not come with angel wings and did not resemble Quincy exactly, so I customized them.

I molded my own wings out of air-dry clay and attached them to the figurine's back.
Once the wings were dry, I painted them white and added gold and glitter accents. I then used brown acrylic paint to make the figurine's head all brown and added freckles on the body. This made it look just like Quincy. I used clear glitter paint to add a little halo on the head as well.
The family loved them and they prompted some tears. They are being kept on top of the boxes that serve as a final resting place for Quincy's ashes. I know our boy has earned his wings in heaven and is watching over all of us.

We're so sorry for Quincy's passing, it's unbearably hard when we lose a beloved four-legged family member. They're just as dear and important as the two-leggeds.
ReplyDeleteThe figurine with the angel wings you made is wonderful, a beautiful way to remember him.
Thank you!
