Making Your Fridge Easy to Clean

My new refrigerator arrived today!  I was without out one for 4 days.  It is so clean and pretty, so I want to keep it that way. If you have an old fridge that needs a cleaning, you can use this process after a good cleaning.  Avoid cleaning it with chemical cleaners, because the fumes can leach into food.  It is suggested to use a mixture of 1 part baking soda to 3 parts water. Removable parts can be cleaned with hot water and dish soap. Once it is all sparkly, you want to keep it that way, right?   Plus you don't want to have to go through such a hassle to clean it every time.  This technique will help.

What you need:
  • Glad press and seal wrap
  • Scissors
  • Box cutter/exact-o knife
The press and seal wrap is going to be your easily changeable surface protector!  Just measure the wrap to the size of your shelf and press it on.  It will work best when your fridge is turned off and warm.  If it is cold, just hold your hand in one spot for awhile to create the heat that helps stick the wrap to the shelf.  I had to use a couple pieces of wrap per shelf and just overlapped them.  I used my knife to cut the end off.  You can try the box to cut it or scissors.  Those two things didn't work well for me. I used the wrap in the bottom of my compartments on the door as well.

Next time you have food leak onto your shelves, you can just tear off the wrap and replace it with new.  EASY!  Much better than scrubbing.  Remember to wash the dirty jars and bottles before replacing them.  These are the culprits of the sticky mess...especially those jelly jars!  Hope this helps make your life easier.
