Fall/Winter Wardrobe Favorites and Tips

It's time for cozy clothes!  As much as I will miss the warm weather and being outside, I always get excited to pull out my boots and scarves.    I am addicted to both.  We have already gotten freezing temperatures in the Chicago area.  I have had to pull out my winter jacket already.  Buckle down for a long winter Chicagoans!  I have one more Chicago beach combing trip planned this week.  I will bundle up and wear my rubber rain boots for that.  I want to get one more good batch of rocks and sea glass before the snow and ice get here.

I found some great tips and tricks on pinterest for fall/winter wardrobes:

Problem = boots flop over on themselves when they are not being worn.
Solution = Rolled up magazines or a cut up pool noodle.  I just happen to have a TON of old magazine laying around.
Problem = I love the look of cute boot socks, but they are so darn expensive.
Solution = Cut the sleeves off of old sweaters.
I bought some CHEAP sweaters at Goodwill.  People probably thought I was nuts, because I was going through the sweaters and only looking at the sleeves of them.

Problem = I have so many scarves, that it is hard to organize and display them.
Solution = Use several tension rods or use shower curtain rings on hangers.
My scarves are currently on 3 hooks.  They lay on top of each other, so it is hard to see all of them at once. I am leaning toward doing the shower curtain ring idea.

I had an old bathroom towel rack that I turned into a boot/leggings/boot sock station, at the end of my bed.  I stacked my boot collection next to it, just for the photo.  I will be keeping the over flow in the old trunk I found at a flea market this summer.
3 pairs of boots are missing from this photo.  Crazy, I know!  x_x
These racks are FULL of socks, leg warmers, and leggings now.

Some other things I look forward to in this season are:  Pretty leaves, bonfires, hot chocolate, pumpkin farms, Halloween costumes, and fall festivals. The leaves are amazing this year.  I have pulled over, while driving, many times.  I just can't pass up a good photo opportunity!

I have another batch of rocks coming out of the polisher this week and I have several recipes to put up, so I will be posting again soon.  Thanks for reading and enjoy your autumn!
