My bf Dan and I visited Indiana Dunes Beach on Labor Day 2012. I spent the day sifting through thousands of rocks...
I came home with quite a haul:
^Sparkly Rocks and White Sea Glass^
^ Quartz and moonstone ^
^sand stone^
^unakite and granite^
^geode pieces^
I have
also started collecting fossils. The most common kind of fossil in Lake
Michigan are crinoids AKA Indian Beads. They date back to the
Paleozoic Era (from 540 to 245 million years ago).
Dan searches for heart shaped objects for me on every trip we take. He found several in Indiana. I have another blog post coming, to show you the box I made for them.
I ran all of the larger sized rocks through my polisher and here are the results:
My absolute favorite one!
^ Some of the best finds from the Indiana Trip ^
Some of my favorite finds to date (Chicago and Indiana combined). I plan to make jewelry with some of them.
I just visited Chicago beaches again, before winter weather starts. I will blog that trip soon!
