Firecracker Tilapia

This recipe is from my momma.  It is very easy!

Ingredients:
  • 4 tilapia filets
  • 1/2 cup of canned, diced tomatoes--drained.
  • 1/2 cup canned tomato sauce
  • 4 Tablespoons of ketchup
  • 4 teaspoons of brown sugar
  • 4 teaspoons of cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons of syrup
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
 Instructions:
  • Combine all of your ingredients (minus the fish) in a bowl to create your sauce.

  • Place your fish filets in the bottom of a separate bowl or container with a lid.  Pour the sauce over the fish.
  • Place the lid on the bowl and refrigerate/marinate for 30 minutes.

  • Remove your filets from the sauce and place them on a greased baking pan.

  • Bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes, or until your fish is flaky.
  • Heat the remainder of the sauce on the stove. The sauce can then be spooned onto your cooked fish.
I plated mine with some dirty rice.
Enjoy!
