Creating a Memory Cube using KraftyBloks

I blogged about my vacation jars here.  I capture memories and mementos from all the places I visit, by placing them in decorative jars.  It started out with just collecting sand from beaches around the world, but I realized it was fun to do for every destination.   I also have stuff from where I live--Chicago.  I recently collected some great stuff on a Chicago beach for this.  Instead of a jar, I found this awesome glass cube.  I thought it was perfect for mementos from an urban location, like Chicago.   I bought the cube at Hobby Lobby.  It is called at KraftyBlok.

These cubes are also good for other memories, saving money for something special (the opening on the top allows for money to be dropped in), displaying collections, or paint it with stain glass paint and put Christmas lights in it as a night light.   There is a lot of room to be creative with these!

My cube contains public transportation tickets, sand, beach stones and shells, bottle caps from the beach, sea glass (my blog on sea glass is here), sports items, and a figurine of the Chicago skyline.  I will add more to it as I collect new things.  I'm sure I have more things laying around that I can throw in there.
