Apple Sauce Pork Chops

I got a BOGO deal on pork chops at the store...SCORE! I was trying to think of a new way to cook them and apple sauce popped in my head. I looked up pork chop and applesauce recipes and this is what I decided on (from cooks.com).

This recipe turned out yummy, but I think I will use less garlic next time. I wanted it more on the sweet side. Plus, my house stinks from mincing the garlic! Bleck!

You will need:
4 loin pork chops (I only cooked 2 chops and then put the leftover gravy in the freezer)
2 tsp. finely minced garlic
3 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt and pepper
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. canned or fresh applesauce
1 tsp. lemon juice

Brown pork chops in skillet (without fat). Put chops in a baking pan. Cook minced garlic in skillet until tender. Add flour, salt, pepper, and water to skillet. Blend thoroughly and cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Add applesauce and lemon juice and mix well. Pour over pork chops. Bake in 425 degree oven for 1 1/4 hours (mine cooked in 50 minutes in a toaster oven). Serves 4.

I put mine on a bed of couscous. Its a great alternative to rice or potatoes. If you try this recipe, I hope you enjoy it!
